Nestled in the heart of Riverside Park in Fort Lauderdale, Selva House redefines urban living, immersing residents in the feeling of a secluded jungle retreat while remaining just minutes from Downtown and Fort Lauderdale Beach.

An expression of material honesty, the project is defined by its cast-in-place concrete structure, left exposed and transformed into architecture itself. Raw, tactile, and enduring, concrete becomes both the building’s structure and its identity.

In South Florida, the project stands as an example of tropical brutalism: a fusion of European béton brut with the climatic, environmental, and cultural realities of the tropics. Deep overhangs, shaded terraces, and open-air transitions respond directly to the region’s light, heat, vegetation, and way of life.

Resting lightly on the land through its compact footprint, the building rises like a tree from the ground, extending outward toward the sky through generous cantilevers and overhangs. The architecture gently engages the lush landscape that has matured on the site over many years, preserving and embracing its existing character.

Selva House settles into its surroundings as though it has always belonged there.
